A Remote Mountain Getaway
To the west lie the rugged peaks and glaciers of the Selkirk Mountains – the birthplace of North American mountaineering. To the east, half a dozen accessible peaks and bowls beckon. And to the north and south, the largest alpine meadow in Southern Canada stretches to the horizon.
For millennia, this region has been home to elk, bald eagles, grizzly bears and deer. Ancient fir forests creep up from the valley below, giving way to lush alpine meadows – home to spectacular summer wildflowers and deep winter snow.

Accessible only by helicopter, Purcell Mountain Lodge is perched at 2200 meters (7200’) atop the high alpine slopes of Bald Mountain, in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Here, on the remote border of Canada’s Glacier National Park, there isn’t a road to be seen.
