A Wilderness Paradise
Surrounded by National Parks and the untouched wilderness of the Rocky Mountains, Purcell Mountain Lodge is a nature-lover’s dream.
Watch eagles and hawks soar on the thermal winds, sit quietly while deer and elk graze on forest undergrowth, or watch from the Lodge balcony as Columbia ground squirrels harvest the local plants for winter storage. Our resident female grizzly bear, Bella, returned in Summer 2007 to raise her second set of cubs in the nearby meadows and forests, and our guests were privileged with dozens of sightings of these awesome creatures.
All summer long, alpine wildflowers turn our meadow into a blaze of colour, and hummingbirds flit from bloom to bloom.
